Man accused of sexually assaulting a child and dog

Police believe there may be additional victims after a man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a child and a dog.

Deputies from the Victorville Police Department say they first received information about the sexual assaults on January 16. Deputies immediately started an extensive investigation into the suspect, Timothy Carl Lawrence, 46, of Hesperia.

According to a news release by Victorville Police, the investigation led deputies to a residence in Barstow. On Jan. 17, deputies interviewed Lawrence at the Barstow residence.

"As the investigation continued, deputies learned Lawrence and an adult female, who is now living in another state, were involved in additional sexual acts with a minor. That portion of the investigation is ongoing, and deputies are not releasing information about the female subject at this time," reads a release by Victorville Police.

Lawrence was arrested for lewd & lascivious acts with a child under 14 and sexual assault on an animal on Jan. 17. He remains incarcerated at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto on $255,000 bail.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims. In the Victorville Police release, there are several locations listed, including Barstow, Hesperia, and Riverside County.

We have reached out to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department for more details on other locations. A spokesperson said they are not disclosing the locations where the incidents occurred.
