Firefighters contain fire in downtown Palm Springs

The Palm Springs Fire Department contained a fire at a building in downtown Palm Springs Monday afternoon.

The fire was reported at around 1:40 p.m. on the 100 block of N Indian Canyon Road.

Multiple viewers called into the newsroom to report seeing black smoke in the area.

At 2:16 p.m., Palm Springs Fire announced that the fire was contained to the exterior of a building. No other details on fire have been released at this time.

Palm Springs Fire say E Andreas rd. between N. Palm Canyon and N. Indian Canyon are closed until further notice.
