Firefighters rescue person stuck on the roof of an Indio strip mall

CAL FIRE Riverside firefighters rescued a person who was trapped on top of the roof of a strip mall in Indio Thursday afternoon.

Truck 86 was dispatched to the scene. Firefighters ended up setting up a high point to get the person off the roof.

The person was successfully extracted. They were then evaluated at the scene and taken to a local hospital.

There were no details on how the person ended up stuck on the roof, but with an Excessive Heat Warning in effect and temperatures reaching a high near 100° in Indio this afternoon, it is a good thing our firefighters were able to get there as fast as they did.
