Dozens take part in peaceful protest at La Quinta Community Park

At least three dozen people took part in a peaceful demonstration protesting police brutality Tuesday afternoon in La Quinta.

Organizers wrote on social media that the protest was a "peaceful protest against police brutality to show unity & demand change."

Protesters gathered at the La Quinta Community Park off Avenida Montezuma. The size of the protest grew as the afternoon went on. Protesters walked around the park, chanting many of the same chants heard at protests around the country like, "Black Lives Matter" and "No peace, no justice."

The demonstration wrapped up at around 8 p.m., as originally scheduled.
