Gov. Newsom adds more counties to state’s watch list
Colusa, Madera, Marin, Merced, Monterey and San Diego were added to the state's monitoring list, meaning these counties must close indoor operations in restaurants, wineries, movie theaters, zoos/museums, and cardrooms.
With these new additions, 23 of the state's 58 counties are now on the state's watchlist.
5,699 people tested positive on Sunday, the governor announced, briging the total number of cases up to 260,155. The state's positivity rate increased to a 7.2% average over the past week.
Hospitalizations jumped up by 50% over the past two weeks and ICU admissions are up 39%, however coronavirus patients are taking up just 8% of total hospital capacity across the state.
