Suspect charged in deadly stabbing on a Sunline Bus pleads not guilty

The suspect charged with murder after stabbing a man on a Sunline bus in Desert Hot Springs last Friday appeared in court and pleaded not guilty today.

Authorities say 42 year old Israel Eduardo Perez Gomez of Desert Hot Springs intentionally killed the victim who has yet to be identified on that bus.

The incident was reported off Mission Lakes Boulevard near Santa Cruz Road around 6:00 p.m. that night.

Police tell News Channel 3 that officers responded to a disturbance call and found a man with stab wounds.

While waiting for Cal Fire and EMS crews, officers tried to save the man but he died on scene.

Perez Gomez is being held on $1 million dollars bail and is scheduled to appear in court again on August 12th for a felony settlement conference.
