More records in jeopardy as heatwave continues

Yesterday's blistering 119 set a record in Palm Springs, and Thermal also got in on the action setting a record of 117. Today we could reach the existing record of 120. The Excessive Heat Warning continues into tomorrow until 8pm.

Highs are expected to push near 120 both today and tomorrow before we see any easing of temperatures.

Despite an Air Quality Alert in effect until 8 p.m. tomorrow, the air quality remains in the "GOOD" or "MODERATE" range.

Temperatures cool modestly into the weekend and next week.
