KESQ

Banning police today were investigating a two-car collision that left a woman dead and a man seriously injured.

The wreck happened about 11:10 a.m. Thursday in the 1100 block of East Ramsey Street, near Phillips Street, according to the police department.

Agency spokeswoman Sol Avila said that two vehicles impacted at the location, though the circumstances remain unclear.

Avila said that the occupants of one vehicle were ejected onto the street, suffering major injuries. No one in the other car was hurt.

Riverside County Fire Department paramedics rendered treatment at the scene, and both victims, whose identities were not disclosed, were taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where the woman died Thursday afternoon, according to Avila.

The man's condition had not been confirmed by Friday morning.

Anyone with information regarding the crash was asked to contact investigators at 951-922-3170.
