Valley businesses and organizations fundraise for those who survived Maui Wildfires
Valley organizations and businesses are organizing fundraisers to help those in need in Maui.
The Four Horsemen, a mobile bar based in Palm Springs is hosting a community Luau with Hawaiian inspired sounds and food.
While the Palm Desert Rotary Club is also working to provide help through their disaster relief fund, and by adding Maui Disaster Relief to their beneficiary list at this year's Jubilee Luncheon.
"So we actually have a chef who is from Hawaii. His name is Chef Reese from June Hill's Table in Indio. And we also have our chef from Boozehounds Chef Eric, who has a Michelin star. We'll be doing Hawaiian plates, like Hawaiian style Luau," said Shae Cunningham, Four Horsemen Mobile Bar Founder.
Ricardo Loretta, a member with the Rotary Club of Palm Desert shared, "We have rotarians in Hawaii, who are guiding us to the areas of most need."
Loretta also shares there are two rotary chapters in Lahaina, and their club presidents have lost their homes.
"God knows how many other Rotarian members also suffered similar losses. It's horrible, and we have to help," said Loretta.
So many valley residents with ties to Maui are stepping in to help those that are rebuilding.
The Kokua 'help' Maui Fundraiser is set to take place, August 25 at the Packhouse Aziz Farms from 6 to 9 p.m. You can find more details and ticket information on their Eventbrite page here.
