9/11 remembrance events in the Coachella Valley

Monday marks the 22nd anniversary of 9/11, where terrorists attacked The World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Below is a list of ceremonies in the valley to remember all the lives that were lost on that very day.

  • "9/11 Candlelight Vigil" September 11th at Civic Center Park in La Quinta at 7:00 PM.
    • The city of La Quinta is hosting a vigil that will feature musical performances, speeches from local dignitaries, and public art composed from World Trade Center building remnants. There will also be a moment of silence to remember the 13 soldiers who tragically lost their lives during the 2021 attack in Kabul, Afghanistan.
  • "Promised to Never Forget" September 11th at the 9/11 memorial in front of the Palm Springs Fire Station 2, 300 El Cielo Rd.
    • The Palm Springs Fire Station will live up to their promise and gather in remembrance of the lives that were lost that very day. At 5:46 AM, the exact time the first hijacked plane struck the north tower they will join for a moment of silence and at 6:34 AM the PSFD Honor Guard will ceremoniously lower the flag over the memorial to half staff.

  • "Patriot Day Ceremony" September 11th at Indio City Hall at 9:00 AM
    • Califried Foundation presents this years 22nd anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks
    • Arrive no later than 8:30 AM
    • After the ceremony, you are welcomed to join a lunch at The Potter’s House in Indio where organizers will continue honoring Public Safety Personnel, Military and First Responders
  • At Dusk in Cathedral City, the Two Towers of Light will be lit in Remembrance of those lost on 9/11
    • Location: 31121 Avenida Maravilla
