Woman burned during early morning house fire in Palm Springs

An early morning fire left one person injured according to the Palm Springs Fire Department. Fire officials say just before 2:00 am crews were dispatched to a fire on the 1800 block of East Amado Road. When they arrived they saw a home on fire with flames and heavy smoke showing.

Crews initiated an aggressive fire attack in coordination with search and rescue and ventilation crews. The people living in the home were able to evacuate before crews arrived. One woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for moderate burn injuries. A cat inside the home also died.

Palm Springs Building and Safety, and the Red Cross were both requested to provide assistance to the residents. The fire is under investigation and no injuries were reported to the firefighters.
