Stolen Vehicle Pursuit Ends in Mecca, 2 Suspects Detained, search for 1 continues

The Riverside County Sheriff's Department continues to search for a suspect that escaped during a pursuit in Mecca early Friday morning.

According the the Sheriff Department they attempted to pull over a suspected DUI driver in the area of Highway 111 and Bay Drive in Mecca, just before 10:00 am. The vehicle failed to yield and a pursuit was initiated.

The vehicle stopped in the area of 64th and Lincoln a short time later, where three subjects ran from the vehicle. "Deputies located two subjects; however, they are currently on scene searching for the third," Stated Sergeant Deirdre Vickers. "During the investigation, deputies determined the vehicle was stolen. The investigation is ongoing."
