Variety Children’s Charity of the Desert donates 300 bikes to local kids at 28th Annual Giveaway
Variety Children's Charity of the Desert gave away 300 bikes at its annual giveaway event on Sunday inside Acrisure Arena.
The recipients were fourth-grade students from around the Coachella Valley nominated by their school teachers.
They were chosen for having good school work habits while overcoming challenges and disadvantages, yet still being helpful and caring to others in their schools.
The children were also set to experience a mini-carnival being set up by Variety.
Over the past 28 years, the Children's Charity of the Desert has given away 8,000 bikes to local students.
