M4.2 earthquake strikes near San Bernardino, viewers report shaking in Coachella Valley
A 4.2 magnitude earthquake struck near San Bernardino, the US Geological Survey confirmed.
We've received calls from residents who felt shaking in the Banning-Beaumont area and the Coachella Valley.
The San Bernardino County Fire Department confirmed there are no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

This quake is M4.2 2 miles SW of San Bernardino. Location is pretty deep (15 km) very close to the San Jacinto fault. That part of the fault is generally locked - it had a M7 in the 19th century. We often see small quakes like this below locked segments. https://t.co/fEtrcCIsBW

The quake was about 9.3 miles below surface. Many people reported hearing it before feeling it for quite some time.
