Indian Canyon Dr and Gene Autry Trail back open

Indian Canyon through the wash is now open
Palm Springs Police closed North Indian Canyon Drive and Gene Autry Trail Monday evening through the Whitewater Wash.
As of 10:30 a.m. N Gene Autry at the Wash between Via Escuela and Salvia has been reopened.
The Gene Autry Trail closure was for blowing sand and low visibility. The city announced that closure shortly before 8:30 p.m. while North Indian Canyon Drive was closed due to flooding. It was closed at 9:55 p.m. by the city.
Vista Chino remained open to traffic.
Drivers can use Vista Chino, Ramon Road, Dinah Shore, and Highway 111 as alternate routes in and out of Palm Springs.
A Wind Advisory was set to go into effect Monday at 10 PM.
Our First Alert Weather Alert team says the advisory does not include the Coachella Valley but does extend into Desert Hot Springs, North Palm Springs, and the San Gorgonio Pass.
