We are counting down the days until Tuesday's primary elections. Congressman Adam Schiff and Steve Garvey were in the valley this weekend ahead of the big day.

News channel 3 got a one on one with Schiff. We also contacted Garvey's team to interview him, but they declined. Congressman Adam Schiff hits four cities in one day in the final stretch before the primary elections on Tuesday.

Schiff shared his accomplishments working in the U.S. Attorney's office. Palm Desert was the second stop he made on Saturday.

News Channel 3: Now that you're in the Coachella Valley, what is your message to our viewers? Why should you be their senator?

Schiff: "Well, I'm proud to work with Raul Ruiz to address any number of issues affecting the valley; I want to make sure that we build more affordable housing and have clean water and clean energy for people. I want to address all of the challenges at the Salton Sea that are affecting so many in the community. These are my priorities. I want to be a senator for all of California."

Schiff says his plans for housing and homelessness involve incentivizing the construction of hundreds of thousands of new units every year.

News Channel 3's Miyoshi Price hit the streets to see what valley residents prioritize this year when selecting political leaders. "I will tell you homelessness, over taxation, ridiculous government policy in California," says Trina Brown.

Brown lives in Beaumont and says she is still vetting her options for senator. "I haven't actually looked at them close enough to give you an opinion," says Brown.

Mary Levy from Thousand Palms already decided who she is voting for and how she will do it. "My husband and I vote together; we sit down on the couch, and we mark our ballots, and we take it in person on the fifth," says Levy

She says she is supporting Steve Garvey for the Senate on Tuesday.
