The 20th Annual Desert Smash Celebrity vs Pro Tennis Tournament is in La Quinta
Tennis meets Pickleball fun in the desert at the 20th Anniversary Desert Smash. Professional Pickleball players and tennis stars are expected to attend the two-day tournament. Colton Underwood, David Dobrik, Wes Burrows, and Sam Querrey are the emcees of the tournament. It is a tournament for a cause.
"Well, does this mass bring together Hollywood and professional tennis for charity," says Ryan Macaulay, the founder of Desert Smash. "For the first time, we're having our inaugural pickleball event. We're calling it a smash celebrity pickleball challenge."
Tuesday, March 5 "is our 20th anniversary of desert Smash, the celebrity tennis exhibition that brings together Hollywood and pro tennis," says Macaulay.
Charlize Theron is hosting the event. It'll benefit her organization, the Charlize Theron African outreach program. "So we're super thrilled we have such a Hollywood icon coming out and supporting the event this year for our 20th anniversary," says Macaulay.
