Palm Desert, Calif. (KESQ) - Troubles at the bank. Local California Bank & Trust customers are experiencing difficulties accessing their online banking accounts, causing many to scramble to the bank for answers.

“So far it’s not been good this morning because I’m trying to make payroll checks and I don’t have the routing number”

Emigdio Mora, bank customer

“I’m just worried about my certificates and deposits in my bank account and worried about what’s going to happen to my social security Wednesday. Where is it going to go because the previous account no longer exists.”

Gary Cotton, bank customer

“I have to be in a line for about an hour to order a new card which they can’t order anyway because their system is down today so a lot more frustrated people.”

Lynn, bank customer

This comes as the company acquired First Bank's operations in the Valley.

Officials say the issues are expected but they're doing what they can.

“Anything to be expected, it’s day 1, our customer have been very patient with us. We’re all learning new systems. I’ve been answering the phones this morning, probably took 20 plus calls.”

Lance Barney, California Bank & Trust president of CV branches

No word on when the issue will be resolved.
