KESQ

PALM DESERT, Calif. (KESQ) - A truck carrying batteries to a recycling facility near Calexico crashed on Interstate 10, spilling its load and causing an hour-long cleanup Wednesday morning.

The crash happened between Monterey and Cook. Authorities told News Channel that the driver lost control of the truck -- which rolled over.

There were around 200 batteries scattered on the roadside.

The driver received medical attention, no lanes were closed, however, there was a major traffic slowdown in the area.
