PSUSD Superintendent Dr. Marcus Funchess reflects on his first 100 days in office
PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (KESQ) - New Palm Springs Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Marcus Funchess is reflecting on his first 100 days in office.
Dr. Funchess will be giving an in-depth report on the district and its future at Tuesday's Board of Education meeting.
He says the district needs to focus on developing a multi-year vision, strengthening academic excellence for all students, and continuing to modernize school facilities.
Dr. Funchess identifies one of the biggest challenges for the district, saying, "Knowing where we are in education right now, keeping our eye on fiscal health and fiscal sustainability. Making sure we're planning for the future, that's always important."
He hopes to launch the multi-year vision for the district beginning in July of next year.
News Channel 3's Peter Daut spoke further with Dr. Funchess to learn more about his plans for the future.
