INDIO, Calif. (KESQ) - Traffic picked up Friday morning near the Stagecoach Festival grounds in Indio, with growing backups along Jefferson Street as festivalgoers head into the area.

Drivers are experiencing congestion increasing as the morning commute overlaps with event traffic. Nearby roads are also seeing heavier-than-usual delays.

Officials are urging drivers to plan ahead, follow posted detours, and allow extra travel time. Those heading out early are encouraged to consider alternate routes to avoid the worst of the congestion.

Traffic enforcement officers say delays are expected to continue building through the morning, with peak congestion likely as more festival attendees arrive.

Friday's lineup includes Wynonna Judd, Sam Barber, Red Clay Strays, Nate Smith, Counting Crows, BigXthaPlug, Marcus King Band and Hannah McFarland.

Other performers scheduled across the Mane, Palomino, Bud Light and Mustang stages include Bailey Zimmerman, Chase Rice, Riley Green, Little Big Town, Brooks & Dunn, Brett Young, Wyatt Flores, Amos Lee and Hootie & the Blowfish.

Festival-goers can also attend performances at Diplo's Honky Tonk stage, featuring DJ Pauly D, Loud Luxury, Two Friends and Marshmello, among others. The venue will also include Guy Fieri's Smokehouse and appearances by Whiskey Jam and the Compton Cowboys.
