Hot, Humid Pattern Holds Through Sunday

The hot and humid pattern isn't changing much just yet--though today doesn't feel quite as oppressive as Wednesday and Thursday.

Afternoon highs will continue to climb into the low to mid 110s through the weekend, with an Extreme Heat Warning remaining in effect through Sunday evening as Major HeatRisk continues across the Coachella Valley.

While the valley is expected to stay dry, enough monsoonal moisture will remain in place for a slight chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms over the mountains through the weekend, with those storm chances becoming a little more widespread Sunday into Tuesday.

The added humidity will continue making the air feel sticky and uncomfortable at times, even though dew points aren't expected to be quite as high as they were earlier this week.

Temperatures finally begin easing a few degrees in the foreseeable future, gradually returning closer to seasonal averages by the middle of the week.
