Walter Clark Legal Group donates 350 backpacks to Indio students ahead of new school year

INDIO, Calif. — Students at Kennedy Elementary School in Indio are getting some extra help getting ready for the new school year.

The Walter Clark Legal Group donated 350 backpacks to Kennedy Elementary students as part of the school's "Chalk the Walk" back-to-school event Tuesday.

The backpacks were handed out to families as students prepare to return to the classroom. The event was rescheduled to accommodate more families returning to the Coachella Valley.

The donation is part of a larger effort by Walter Clark Legal Group to provide 4,500 backpacks to students across Southern California this school year. The law firm announced in July that the backpacks would be distributed through schools and districts in communities throughout the region.
