Oasis at Indio development remains in limbo after marathon council meeting

INDIO, Calif. (KESQ) — The future of one of Indio's largest proposed developments remains uncertain after city leaders delayed making a final decision on the project.

The proposed Oasis at Indio development would cover roughly 183 acres north of Interstate 10 and could ultimately include thousands of homes, commercial development and a significant amount of light industrial space.

The project has drawn months of debate from nearby residents, city leaders and the developer over its size and potential impacts.

That debate continued late into Wednesday night, with the City Council ultimately deciding not to approve or reject the project just yet.
