Congress members to tour Riverside County Registrar ahead of Election Day

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. — Three members of Congress are scheduled to visit the Riverside County Registrar of Voters on Thursday to learn more about election security and how ballots are processed ahead of the November 3 general election.

Congressman Dr. Raul Ruiz, Congresswoman Norma Torres and Congressman Mark Takano are expected to tour the county's ballot processing center.

During the visit, the lawmakers will get a firsthand look at ballot processing procedures, learn about voter protections and speak with local election officials about how votes are counted and protected.

Riverside County Supervisor Karen Spiegel, Registrar of Voters Art Tinoco and Assistant Registrar of Voters Matthew Ceballos are also expected to participate.

The tour is scheduled for 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Riverside County Registrar of Voters.

A press conference is scheduled to follow from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. outside the facility. The lawmakers are expected to discuss their observations and encourage voters to make a plan to vote early.

The visit comes less than a week before Election Day on Tuesday, November 3, when voters will cast ballots in the general election.
