Pepper scores 28, UC Davis downs UCSD 70-63

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Elijah Pepper’s 28 points helped UC Davis defeat UC San Diego 70-63 on Thursday.

Pepper added five rebounds and five assists for the Aggies (18-12, 13-6 Big West Conference). Kane Milling added 13 points while going 5 of 11 (3 for 6 from 3-point range) while he also had three steals. Ty Johnson had 12 points and shot 4 of 14 from the field, including 0 for 3 from 3-point range, and went 4 for 5 from the line.

Aniwaniwa Tait-Jones led the Tritons (20-11, 14-5) in scoring, finishing with 18 points and seven rebounds. Bryce Pope added 16 points and two steals for UCSD. Francis Nwaokorie had 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Both teams play on Saturday. UC Davis visits Long Beach State and UCSD hosts Cal Poly.
