Shuttle bus crashes at Los Angeles airport; 2 injured

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A shuttle bus at Los Angeles International Airport crashed Thursday and at least two people were seriously injured, authorities said.

The crash happened just before 12:30 p.m. near an administrative building as the bus was traveling from the taxi and ride-hailing services parking lot on its way back to the main terminal, said airport spokesperson Victoria Spillabotti.

She did not know whether other vehicles were involved in the crash.

There were 30 people on board the bus but the majority of the passengers were not hurt, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Television news footage showed firefighters wheeling at least one patient on a gurney to an ambulance.

Firefighters and paramedics were evaluating the passengers to see whether any need to be taken to the hospital.

Additional information was not immediately available, such as how the crash occurred. Officials did not know who owns and operates the shuttle bus.
