CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — The first candidate has arrived at the New Hampshire Statehouse as the filing period for the state’s presidential primary gets underway. Mark Stewart Greenstein arrived at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. The Democrat from West Hartford, Connecticut, says he plans to be on the ballot in five states. Greenstein says there should be a way for Democrats to express “they don’t like their front-runner,” President Joe Biden. This year there are big changes to the nominating calendar in other states. New Hampshire’s new elections chief, David Scanlan, is carrying on the tradition of ensuring his state remains first, waiting for the dust to settle in other states before scheduling the 2024 contest. The filing period runs through Oct. 27.
