NEW YORK (AP) — A law enforcement official has confirmed to The Associated Press that a 15-year-old accused of shooting a Brazilian tourist in the leg Thursday night and firing twice at a police officer while fleeing through Times Square has been arrested. The 37-year-old woman who was shot is expected to survive. Police said a security guard confronted the teen and two others who were shoplifting. The shooter pulled out a .45 caliber handgun and fired. As he fled, police say he fired twice at an officer giving chase before escaping into a subway station. Police said Friday that the suspect is a resident of a migrant shelter in Manhattan who arrived from Venezuela late last year.
