Parolee arrested for home invasion robbery and 3 residential burglaries

The Riverside County Sheriff's Department arrested a Cathedral City man connected to a home invasion robbery and three additional residential burglaries.

Angel Garcia, 35, was arrested on early Wednesday morning in Cathedral City.

The home invasion robbery was reported on Wednesday at approximately 5:19 a.m. on the 30th block of Mirage Cove Drive in Rancho Mirage. According to the Sheriff's Department, Garcia entered the residence and became involved in a physical altercation with the homeowner. Garica eventually fled from the home on foot.

The Palm Desert Station Burglary Suppression Unit assumed the investigation. At 12:23 p.m., authorities located Garica in a desert area near Highway 111 southeast of Date Palm Drive in Cathedral City. Garcia was arrested following a short pursuit.

The Sheriff's Department revealed that Garcia is also a suspect in three additional residential burglaries that occurred in Rancho Mirage. No details were released on any of these burglaries.

Garcia was transported to the county jail in Banning for Home Invasion, Assault w/ A Deadly Weapon, Conspiracy, and Violation of Probation. According to jail records, he is being held without bail.
