Suspected drunk driver leads police on two hour chase through Desert Hot Springs

012620 DHS PURSUIT 3

Desert Hot Springs police say they chased a suspected DUI driver during a two hour pursuit, which began just after 1:00 Sunday morning.

Police say they initially tired to pull over the driver in the area of 6th Street and Cactus Drive, before he led them on a chase toward the "north end of the city".

Eventually, with the help of officers from the California Highway Patrol, and officers from the Cathedral City Police Department, the suspect's vehicle was brought to a stop, and the man was arrested.

The man is identified as 35-year-old Desert Hot Springs resident Alejandro Guadan.

Police say two "replica firearms" and ammunition were found in Guadan's vehicle.

Police say no one was injured during the pursuit.

Guaran is charged with eluding a police officer, felon in possession of ammunition, DUI and probation violation.

He was booked at the Larry Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
