A 26-year-old Indio man was arrested in connection with a car-to-car shooting in Rancho Mirage last month.

The man was taken into custody Monday at around 1 p.m. at the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station, according to county jail records. He was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio where he faces three counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

He remains in custody on $25,000 bail. He's scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.

The shooting happened on July 13 at around 2:50 p.m. at the intersection of Bob Hope Drive and Casino Way.

Three vehicles were struck by gunfire. The occupant of one of the vehicles suffered minor injuries from broken glass and was treated at the scene.

The suspect was reported to have fled the scene in a vehicle described as a newer red sedan, which was seen traveling northbound on Bob Hope Drive.
