Police search for suspect in assault at downtown Palm Springs bar in May

Police are asking for the community's help in locating a suspect involved in an assault at a bar in downtown Palm Springs back in May.

The attack happened on Saturday, May 20 at a bar on the 200 Block of N. Palm Canyon Drive.

Police said the victim suffered significant injuries, which required surgery, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.

With the cooperation of local establishments, PSPD officers obtained surveillance footage to help identify the suspect.

The suspect is described as a heavy-set Hispanic and/or white male, with short dark hair. At the time of the assault, he was wearing reading glasses and a purple Lakers jersey.

The suspect also has tattoos around both of his shoulders.
