Wanted felon arrested after hours-long standoff in Bermuda Dunes

Update: The suspect was arrested at around 9:30 p.m.

A standoff is underway in a neighborhood in Bermuda Dunes due to wanted felon, authorities told News Channel 3.

The incident started at around 5:15 p.m.

The Riverside County Sheriff's Office told News Channel 3 that deputies were dispatched to the 78000 block of Avenue 42 regarding a wanted felon at the location.

There was no word on what exactly led to the standoff. Authorities also did not say what the suspect was wanted for.

"Deputies are currently on the scene attempting to negotiate a peaceful surrender," writes Sergeant Deirdre Vickers, public information officer for the Sheriff's Office.
