Deputies find over 50 firearms, narcotics, explosives, and clandestine drug lab in Joshua Tree
Two men were arrested after deputies found more than 50 firearms, narcotics, explosives, and a clandestine drug lab in Joshua Tree.
The arrests took place Wednesday at around 10:45 a.m. on the 60000 Block of Post Road. The Morongo Basin Station Multi-Enforcement Team investigated suspected sales of narcotics in the area.
Deputies served the search warrant along with members of the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Detective Bureau and the Specialized Enforcement Division.
"As a result of this ongoing investigation and search warrant, investigators confiscated 58 firearms, ammunition, approximately 2 pounds of methamphetamine, a clandestine drug lab, explosive devices, and proceeds from illicit narcotic sales. The Sheriff’s Narcotics Division and Bomb and Arson Detail responded to safely remove the clandestine drug lab and explosives," reads an announcement by the Morongo Basin Station.
The two men face multiple charges, including Felon in Possession of Firearms, Possession of Narcotics for Sale, and Drug Manufacturing. Both suspects were booked into the Morongo Basin Jail were they remain in custody on at $700,000 bail.
