Police search for suspect in Palm Desert bank robbery

On Wednesday, June 26, at 2:00 PM, deputies assigned to the Palm Desert Sheriff's Station were dispatched to a bank robbery at U.S. Bank in the 72000 block of Highway 111, Palm Desert.

Upon arrival, deputies were told that the subject had fled from the location.

During the investigation, deputies learned that the suspect had entered the bank, approached a bank teller at the counter, and made a demand for money.

The suspect did not produce a weapon or indicate that he was armed.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled the bank on foot in an unknown direction.

Witnesses described the suspect as a white male adult between 50 and 60 years old that was around 5'10' to 6'0" tall and 150 to 175 pounds. The suspect was wearing a green baseball-style hat, dark-framed prescription glasses, a light green t-shirt, and denim jeans.

After an extensive search, deputies were unable to locate the subject.

The Riverside County Sheriff's Office has released security camera footage of the suspect and is requesting the public's assistance with identifying and locating the suspect.

This is still an ongoing investigation, and no additional details are available at this time.
