Ping-pong offers exercise and connection for people living with Parkinson’s

PALM DESERT, Calif. (KESQ) — A ping-pong program in Palm Desert is giving people with neurological conditions a place to stay active and connect with others.

NeuroPong offers table tennis for people living with Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis and dementia at the Family YMCA in Palm Desert.

Players follow the ball, react to each shot and move their paddles to send it back across the table. Each session combines movement with a chance to socialize.

The gatherings also offer a chance to meet others facing similar challenges and build friendships.

Sessions are held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:45 a.m. at the Family YMCA in Palm Desert.
