Interstate 10 traffic lanes reopen east of Coachella following SigAlert closure due to big rig rollover

Interstate 10 eastbound was reopened at 7:36 a.m. Friday morning after a SigAlert was issued and eastbound traffic lanes closed at Dillon Road in Coachella. The closure came after a big rig truck rolled over blocking lanes near the Cactus City rest stop.

There were no reports of injuries in the 2:00 a.m. rollover wreck.

The California Highway Patrol said the number 2 lane would remain closed eastbound for water pipe repairs.

A SigAlert was issued as all eastbound traffic was being detoured to State Highway 82, then to Box Canyon Road, and back to the interstate east of the accident scene.

The eastbound interstate lanes were expected to closed for four hours.

Westbound freeway lanes were not impacted by the closure.
