Gene Autry and Indian Canyon back open at wash in Palm Springs

N Indian Canyon Drive was reopened at the Whitewater Wash, according to the Palm Springs Police Dept.

Gene Autry Trail was reopened at the wash Monday morning, the city announced.

N Indian Canyon Drive remains closed at the wash.

North Indian Canyon Drive and Gene Autry Trail were closed to traffic Monday morning due to blowing sand and dust over the weekend.

N. Indian Canyon Drive was closed to all traffic through the Whitewater Wash Friday morning at 5:00 a.m.

Palm Springs Police said the closure runs from Sunrise Parkway to Palm Springs Station Road, about a mile south of Interstate 10.

Gene Autry Trail was closed Friday evening.

The latest closure came just a day and a half after it had reopened following a two-week closure due to sand buildup. 

The road was closed on May 23rd due to low visibility concerns.
