A woman was arrested in Twentynine Palms Wednesday on suspicion of child sexual abuse in connection with an incident reported in November, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

On November 25, Morongo Basin Station deputies received a referral from Children and Family Services about the sexual abuse of a 6-year-old. The victim reportedly was abused on two separate occasions by 28-year-old Kimberly Willet of Twentynine Palms.

On Wednesday, a warrant was issued for Willet's arrest. Later that day, Willet was taken into custody on suspicion of committing Lewd and Lascivious Acts with a Child under 14 and booked into Morongo Basin Jail.

"Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Morongo Basin Station at (760) 366-4175," read the SBCSD release on the incident. "Anyone wishing to remain anonymous may contact We-Tip at 1-888-78-CRIME."

Willet is currently being held on $250,000 bail. Willet's booking photo was not provided by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
