‘Front Line Friday’ flyovers to honor Coachella Valley’s essential workers

The Palm Springs Air Museum is taking to the skies to thank essential workers throughout Coachella Valley for their help battling the coronavirus epidemic.

It’s a tribute called ‘Front Line Friday’ and it starts this week.

Three historic aircraft ready for take-off include the P-63 Kingcobra, a P-51 Mustang, and C-47 Skytrain. The plan is to fly over local cities and health care facilities each Friday in May.

On Memorial Day, all eight aircraft will fly in a circuit across Coachella Valley. The Air Museum will not do the traditional Memorial Day celebration and flower drop this year.

News Channel 3 will bring you live coverage of this week’s Front Line Friday. Watch on air on KESQ and online at kesq.com at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1.
