Flooding causes several road closures throughout the Coachella Valley
[UPDATE 3:30 P.M.] N Indian Canyon at the wash is now open.
UPDATE [9:46 A.M.]: N Gene Autry at the wash is now open.
UPDATE [9:41 A.M.]: All Palm Desert roads are now open.
UPDATE [5:30 A.M.]: Vista Chino at the wash is now open.
Several roads in the Coachella Valley were flooded Friday morning following heavy rains.
Drivers were asked to avoid the following streets:
PALM SPRINGS
- N Indian Canyon between Garnet and Sunrise Parkway
- N Gene Autry Trail between I-10 and E Via Escuela
INDIO
- Fred Waring between Hoover Ave and Monroe St
- Coyote Song Way
- Jefferson between Dunbar and Avenue 42 was reduced to 1 lane
- Monroe Street and Avenue 42 - Westbound lane was closed
- Highway 111 between Monroe Street and Jackson Street
- Avenue 48 between Monroe Street and Jackson Street
- Fred Warning between Monroe Street and Clinton Street
- Madison Street between Miles Ave and Avenue 46
PALM DESERT
- Eastbound Gerald Ford just east of Cook Street is closed due to flooding
- Washington St to Coyote song way
UNINCORPORATED AREAS
- Dillon Rd From Larsen to Rudder in Sky Valley
- Washington St from 38th Ave to Varner Rd in Bermuda Dunes
INTERSTATE 10:
- Traffic was stopped near the Date Palm exit due to flooding, with mud and debris on the #3 and #4 lanes. Traffic was moving again by 5:45 p.m.
