How a Palm Springs High School alumni played a role in the 49ers path to the Super Bowl

Super Bowl 58 kicks off on Sunday in Las Vegas.

One Palm Springs High School football alumni, Tayler Hawkins, will be in attendance.

He was a part of the PSHS CIF Champion team in 2014, and went on to play at San Diego State University.

After graduating, he was signed to the San Francisco 49ers.

He made his NFL debut in January against the LA Rams. In that game, he picked off Carson Wentz, taking the 49ers one step closer to the Super Bowl.

While his career has taken him all the way to the Bay, Tayler still stays in touch with coaches and athletes at Palm Springs High School.

We spoke to his former coach, Darryl Goree, about Tayler’s growth from one championship game to another.
