Cathedral City to appoint new mayor in first meeting since since Councilmember Carnevale’s death

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. (KESQ) - Cathedral City will hold it's first city council meeting Wednesday since the death of Councilmember Mark Carnevale in November.

Carnevale's death was ruled a suicide by Riverside Sheriff Coroners last month and his seat on the City Council has since remained vacant.

The city will also appoint the next Mayor, Raymond Gregory, and Mayor Pro Tem Ernesto Gutierrez.

News Channel 3 will be live outside of City Hall throughout the evening following these changes. Stay tuned for more.
