Gene Autry back open at the Whitewater Wash following sand removal, maintenance

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (KESQ) - N Gene Autry Trail was reopened Tuesday afternoon at the Whitewater Trail in Palm Springs.

Gene Autry was originally closed between E Via Escuela and Salvia at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday for sand removal and maintenance. The roadway was opened just after 5:00 p.m.

Palm Springs police initially issued an alert Monday morning that Gene Autry was closed, however, the road was opened for the day just after 3 p.m.
