"Vaccinate All 58" gets COVID-19 shots-in-arms
(Sponsored Content) Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the U.S., Desert Oasis Healthcare (DOHC) began regularly updating its members at MyDOHC.com with online resources from the CDC, as well as from organizations and other government agencies at the state, county, and local levels. When the much anticipated, first doses of the Pfizer vaccine arrived in California in December 2020, including at DOHC, the state’s tiered system began vaccinating essential healthcare workers and those living and working in long-term care settings.

The state launched its “Vaccinate All 58” campaign – as in the 58 counties in California – as a way to encourage Californians to get their COVID vaccine at their earliest opportunity. DOHC expanded on the campaign by adding its hopeful messages of “Let’s Get Back To …” to bring its own members, as well as others from the general community, into DOHC as a designated vaccine provider as soon as their vaccination tier was called.

As of May 27, 2021 COVID cases and deaths in the U.S. dropped to their lowest levels in nearly a year with the number of people vaccinated growing steadily. The national percentage of COVID-19 positive-result tests reached their lowest rates in the U.S. since widespread testing began. These encouraging trends continue as many people are making plans to travel, gather with friends and family, and resume other “re-opening” activities they had avoided since the start of the pandemic.

Whether by smart phone, tablet, or computer, DOHC quickly began offering Virtual Visits for patients who needed to see their doctor or another member of their care team, such as a pharmacist or health educator, during the pandemic from the comfort and safety of their home. DOHC even offered online appointments for its “Best of Desert 2020” Immediate Care Clinics.

While DOHC continues to offer these Virtual Visits for patients who prefer them, they know that some people have delayed or avoided medical care over the last year … so they might want to consider adding “visit my doctor in-office” to their list of things to do. Getting regular health care, routine screenings, and vaccinations can help prevent serious health problems, save money, and lead to better health. COVID-19 safety protocols continue to be in place to reduce spread of the virus.

As the U.S. continues to determine the best ways to get all Americans vaccinated, many states have determined that nothing is more convincing than “free stuff.” In California, that means cash! On June 15, ten people, aged 12 and older who have had at least one COVID-19 dose, will receive $1.5 million each!
Before then, “$50,000 Fridays” give cash prizes of $50,000 to thirty total winners on Friday, June 4 and Friday, June 11. And, the first two million Californians not yet vaccinated will receive a $50 virtual or grocery gift card.
