Tiger Woods suffers serious leg injuries after single-car rollover crash in LA County
Golfer Tiger Woods had to be extricated from a vehicle following a rollover crash early this morning on the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes, the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department confirmed.
Woods was alone in the vehicle when it crashed into a raised median shortly before 7:15 a.m., crossed two oncoming lanes and rolled over several times, authorities said at a news conference. No other cars were involved.

Los Angeles County Fire Chief Daryl Osby that the jaws of life were not used as previously reported. Crews used a prying tool and an axe to extricate Woods from the vehicle.
Villanueva said Woods was alive and conscious when first responders arrived at the scene. Deputies did not find evidence of impairment. Blood was not drawn as there was no evidence of impairment.
Authorities said they checked for any odor of alcohol or other signs he was under the influence of a substance and did not find any. They did not say how fast he was driving. Weather was not a factor in the crash.
Woods suffered serious injuries to both his legs, Villanueva announced. His injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.

The circumstances of the crash are under investigation.
Golf Digest is reporting that his agent, Mark Steinberg, confirms Woods suffered “multiple” leg injuries, and that he is in surgery right now.

Woods, 45, who was born in Cypress, was in the Southland for the
Genesis Invitational golf tournament at Riviera Country Club over the weekend.
