Firebirds fall in Game 4, still lead Admirals 3-1 in Western Conference Finals

The Western Conference Series will continue after Milwaukee avoided the sweep on Thursday night.

The Admirals won 7-2 to force a Game 5 on Saturday.

It was a disappointing result for the Firebirds, who were looking to get the sweep to secure their spot in the Calder Cup Finals.

The Firebirds will look to bounce back in Game 5, which will be played Saturday in Milwaukee. Puck drop is at 4:00 p.m. PT. A watch party will be held at Spotlight 29.

If the Firebirds win Game 5, then they will advance to the Calder Cup Finals. If the Admirals take Game 5, then the series would return to Acrisure Arena for Game 6.

The Firebirds' 9-game winning streak was snapped.

The Admirals are now 5-0 in elimination games in the 2024 Calder Cup Playoffs. They're also 9-2 at home throughout the playoffs.

Milwaukee took the lead early in the 1st period.

The Firebirds tied the game up with a goal by Connor Carrick.

The Admirals retook the lead late in the 1st period.

But the Firebirds came right back to tie it up nearly 90 seconds later.

Milwaukee took the lead in the 2nd period with a power play goal.

They doubled up the lead later in the 2nd period.

Milwaukee secured the win with two more goals in the 3rd period.

Thursday looked set up for a Calder Cup Finals rematch with the Hershey Bears. The Bears came in to Thursday also up 3-0 in the Eastern Conference Finals series against the Cleveland Monsters.

But Cleveland, much like Milwaukee, managed to stay alive in the series. Milwaukee beat Hershey to take Game 4. The series is now 3-1.

They'll meet again on Saturday for Game 5.

The Firebirds beat the Admirals 5-2 in Milwaukee to take Game 3.  Coachella Valley had five different goal scorers and Chris Driedger made 31 saves to secure the win.

The Firebirds beat the Admirals 3-1 in Game 2 in front of a sold-out Acrisure Arena, thanks in part to Goaltender Chris Driedger's 31 saves and goals by Andrew Poturalski, Ryker Evans, and Kole Lind.

The Coachella Valley defeated Milwaukee 2-1 in Game 1 with John Hayden scoring two goals and Chris Driedger's 37 saves.
