Several teams get shutout wins in Week 5 of local high school football
The fifth week of the high school football season is underway, headlined by the start of Desert Valley League play.

Thursday Recap
In the DVL season debut, Desert Hot Springs defeated Indio 12-7 on Thursday night at Ed White Stadium. The Golden Eagles are soaring high, starting the season 4-0 for the first time in program history.
Meanwhile, the Rahjas are reeling, falling to 0-4.

Elsewhere in the valley, Xavier Prep hosted a tough Rancho Christian team out of Temecula. The Saints survived, earning the 24-21 victory.
Xavier Prep is 3-1 on the year as they head into a BYE week before DEL play.

Palm Desert also had a game on Thursday, losing 34-0 at Serrano. The Aztecs finished their non-league schedule at 0-5.
PD is off next week with a BYE before hosting rival La Quinta in the Flag Game on Friday, Sept. 29.
