According to a press release from Morongo Unified School District, the game was cancelled because Indio is unable to field both a junior varsity and varsity team.
An Indio school official told News Channel 3 that Indio had five players ejected last week against Twentynine Palms because of a fight towards the end of the game.
With the suspended players, along with some injuries, Indio's decision was made in the best interest of the health and safety of the student athletes to not go forward with the game this week.
The Trojans are now 5-4 overall and 1-1 in league, while the Rajahs are 1-8 overall and 0-2 in league.
The Rajahs are expected to be ready to play the final game of the season, next week against rival Coachella Valley, known as the Bell Game.
Below is the updated schedule for week 10 of the high school football season.
